What is a psychological
evaluation?
Dr. Mandy McPherson has over 20 years of experience in psychological assessment and diagnosis in a wide range of areas. Dr. McPherson is pleased to offer neuropsychological evaluations, early Autism intervention and diagnosis evaluations, adult Autism diagnosis, ADHD evaluations for all ages, parental fitness evaluations, evaluations for college academic accommodations, guardianship/competency, dementia evaluations, court-ordered mental health evaluations, bariatric surgery and neurostimulator evaluations, and general diagnostic evaluations. She works with a team of psychometrists to provide services to clients in a timely manner. Appointments are available within 1-2 weeks and client reports are completed within 1-2 weeks following the testing appointment. This is a private pay practice so treatment can be individualized, and assessments tailored to each client. A superbill is provided to clients who wish to seek insurance reimbursement.
Dr. Mandy McPherson conducts virtual and in-person psychological evaluations. Virtual evaluations are conducted using a teleconferencing platform where each client has a unique password and ID for their privacy during the session. Some methods of test administration are modified per professional tele practice guidelines. Dr. McPherson complies with all ethics and guidelines of the American Psychological Association in her
professional practice as well as applicable licensure laws. Virtual evaluations outside of the state of Georgia are conducted under PSYPACT rules and regulations which allow PSYPACT providers to work with clients who are in any PSYPACT state (33 states currently participate). Tele practice for psychological evaluations has been validated in research journals and by major psychological assessment companies such as Pearson. The virtual use of each assessment/test used is approved by the company that makes the test and is research validated.
Currently, there are relatively few clinicians who specialize in evaluating and treating adults with Autism. Dr. McPherson has over 15 years of experience working with Autistic clients of all ages. Growing awareness about Autism has led many young adults and adults to suspect they may be on the spectrum. Dr. McPherson can help you find out answers to your questions, develop a treatment plan for your diagnosis, and make recommendations for college or work accommodations based on your diagnosis and symptoms.
